So you want to start a garden...

I have piece of advice if you've been dreaming about starting your own garden.
Start small and keep it simple. Starting with herbs, lettuces, easy to grow flowers, like zinnias is a perfect place to start.
You don't need much to start a garden either. A few pots or a small raised bed, seeds, some sun, a shovel, and your hands (they are your best friends). I learned through dad and gardening books, etc, but mostly through trial and error.
Gardening can seem so intimidating, but I promise you it's not. Check out a few books at the library, pick a few things, oh and watch some You Tube videos. You can also check out your local nursery and do a one-on-one gardening consult there. If you are in the Atlanta area and are thinking of starting a garden for the first time, send me an email, I'd love to help!
Here are some of my favorite gardening books to help you get started.
